At CHECK-RIDE, we believe that anything worth teaching is worth teaching well; therefore we strive to take each student to their individual maximum potential during their training time at Check Ride, making sure that when the students graduate they are competent, well trained entry level truck drivers.
Extra Details:
Mike and Jeff Smith, the owners of CHECK RIDE, started this private vocational school in 1989 with the purpose of teaching inexperienced drivers the skills to become “better than average, well-educated” automobile and heavy duty truck drivers. While Mike sees to it that students are well-prepared to receive their first driver’s license, Jeff takes charge of the big rigs and oversees the commercial truck driver training program.

Our 3 ˝ acre site, in Woodinville (view map), WA just off the I-405 and Hwy 522 interchange, consists of 8,000 sq. ft. of office and class room space and a separate 3,000 foot truck shop. The remainder of the property is dedicated to yard space where we teach students the basics in safety, shifting, and backing before we take them out on the highways and byways for their actual on-the-road training.
