Remember back when the 76 Union Truckstops were around!
It was always a beautiful sight for sore eyes to look up at the night sky and see that big old orange ball glowing like a setting sun.
It was a beacon of comfort knowing that their was always a safe place to come off the big road for the night.
Now, I know some of you old school drivers are grinnin ear to ear when I say,
a safe place to come off the road, because listening to the CB Radio while parked in a 76 Truckstop was sometimes quite entertaining to say the least!
Boy oh Boy! I remember sittin at the 76 after supper, listenin to the CB and thinkin their was goin to be a blood bath before the night was over!
Hee! Hee! Hee!
Some of those good old Boys could sure stir up some bad ol' CB wars in the 76
but in all my years in the 76's, I never saw anyone git outta their truck to actually do what they were threatening to do over the CB.
All it took was just one driver to git the pot stirred up and the CB war was on fer the night.
The whole dang truckstop was yellin and cussin each other out over the CB like it was world war 3, but come mornin, you could'nt meet a nicer bunch of drivers walkin across the parkin lot for breakfast.
Good Morning! Beautiful day ain't it? as they opened the door of the front entrance fer each other!
Yep! We still cuss and argue over the CB, but it ain't like it used to be!!
I sure miss that Big old orange ball in the sky!!
Wildbill......Ornry as ever!
