Default Radio hams compete in field day

RICHMOND — Many people know Terry Holman, a members of the Central Kentucky Amateur Radio Society, simply as his call sign, AC4PY.

“In ham radio, our call is our name, essentially,” he said. “It’s kind of like the handle on CB-radio.”

Holman and about 20 other members of the Central Kentucky Amateur Radio Society set up their equipment Saturday on the lawn of Model Laboratory School for a 24-hour emergency field day.
