Thumbs up O/O do it yourself truck repair!

I represent a real estate development firm who is currently working on a new idea for the trucking industry. We are building "warehouse type" buildings where operators can lease bays to work on their rigs. In other words, anyone who wants and/or needs space that is tailored to work on and store big rigs (tractors) can lease it from us in one of the sites that we are currently in the process of building. However, we are new to the trucking industry and are educating ourselves on the highest exposure outlets for the trucking business. The question is: Where are the best places to get our message across and market our product? For example, websites or publications; where do operators/owners get their new information in the trucking business? Any suggestions or help are much obliged! These depots will save operators/owners a lot of money on maintenance and facilitate the success and profitability of your business. Thanks, Dale C. Bullough Jr.

I would love the opportunity to be able to do a few things small things on my truck, but don't have the space and don't want to spend thousands on tools to use a couple of times. So the space with tool rental would be great.

Bigger cities have more trucks and o/o's. Parking your rig for a few days in a big city is getting to be a major problem too. Where I live in Las Vegas, there are a lot of dirt trucks (end-dumps, belly dumps, side dumps). A lot of dirt gets moved around in the desert! Anyway, people with an empty lot have taken to renting parking places for trucks. A reasonable monthly rate is better than a chance at getting a parking ticket. Which Vegas is beginning to really crack down on nowadays.

So a garage with tool rental with some outside parking spaces would be a great idea.

Where to advertise? The best way is word of mouth. I read some of the rags at trucks stop, but not very often and not consistently. Signs or billboards where trucks fuel (we always need fuel!) would work best. Whatever trucking companies that have terminals in the area would be able to get the word out to their o/o's and they might even need the parking or other services.
