Default Landstar?

anybody ever run for them, how do they work exactly, its pretty much a network of brokers right? well what part does landstar play in the game, ever any problems with payouts from certain brokers? I hear they pay fairly well but it varies from broker to broker.

any and all opinions and experiences are appreciated

This is the best move I've ever made(Coming to Landstar) no forced dispatch, you pick your loads, send in your proof of delivery, get paid once per week. You must know something about running a business, your own. If you are self motivated you will succeed, if you reqauire someone to boot you in the ass to get you going, myou will fail. you get to make your own mistakes here. If you make a bad decision, there isw no one to be angry at other than yourself. If you can manage your business this is where you want to be. If you don't suceed here, then you are not a business manager, go get a job driving a company truck for someone.

Default O/o

I was there for a year or so. Landstar won't cheat you, but some agents will. My suggestion is to get your own athority and go out on your own. Find your own loads off loadboards such as Internet Truckstop, with credit check. We have been operating with them for a couple of years now, on our own. The revenue difference is quite a big sum. 100 percent on your own vs 67 percent leased to Landstar, do the math. Take a look in the stock section of the newspaper. Check out all the different Landstar companies there are. They built those with owner operator labors. Doesn't it make more sence (cents) to go out on your own. Wishing you well in your decision.
