Default A few questions please

Hi Folks,
I've been lurking in the shadows, reading this site for quite some time now. So far, I've liked what I've seen, so I decided to register and post my first question. I am considering becoming an O/O and driving for a container company out of an Atlanta, GA terminal. This company operates in the South East primarily, and the location of my home, which is pretty much between terminals, would allow me to get home several times a week plus weekends. What I would like to know from you folks is what specific questions to ask the company, before I lease on, that would keep me from making big time mistakes? What are some of the things that I should look for that would cause a red flag to go up?
Finally, the company I am considering is TRANSUS, and if anyone knows anything about them, I would appreciate your feedback.
From my search, I've found a lot of valuable information about truck buying, business plans, etc. All good advice which I plan to use. Any other advice beyond what I've asked for would be appreciated.

Default Transus

Transus used to be owned by TNT. Havent kept up with them over the years so not sure who owns them now but TNT is a very solid company. They used to lease trucks for LTL Dedicated and Double Trailer Operations. The man I leased to several years ago was Leo House there in Atlanta(TNT Dugan).

Another Good Man to lease to there in Conley is Wayne Smith of Fepco Containers. He will give you all the running you want and you wont find a better group of people to work with. A fella named Felton Pierson owns Fepco and He's a very good man. They've been around for years!

Default Atlanta O/O Needed

We are currently in need of owner operators running dedicated business out of Atlanta, GA. We currently off $.95 for all miles, moving to $.97 after six months + accessorial pay and 100% of the fuel surcharge.

We are a 50 year old company, but Atlanta is a new market for us. We opened our terminal on 9/1/05 to service this dedicated business. You will be home every day, or at least every other day. Good opportunity.

We require 2 years experience, and a fairly clean driving record.

If you have an interest, please contact me ASAP @ 1-800-942-3175
Ask for Kevin Roycraft....Thanks
