Default Freight Brokering ???

I am concidering getting off of the road and getting into brokering. I am an independant driver with a specialty niche so I never needed a broker or to hunt down loads. So I am very unfamiliar with what you guys do to get loaded. My questions are do you guys get most of your loads off of sites like getloaded.com? Is there still a big future in the brokerage market or are most O/O turning to do it yourself websites to save the commisions? Please help me out here, I want to try and break into this market but I don't want to waste money on some school that promises me the world only to find dead ends.

I think it is a good idea to get into brokering. Keep in mind, don't get greedy. That will break you faster than anything in this business. Brokers are plentyful, honest ones are scarce, both seem to survive. I have to think honest ones are happier. Good luck in your endevor.

I was thinking the same thing awhile back. Personally, I might go to a school to make sure I have the paperwork, bonding and all that stuff right. But if you've already got the connections for shippers you're half way there.
