We Just bought a new truck

Me and my dad just finianced a new truck. He is going to go work for JB Hunt Or GTI, but in the mean time while he works WHAT ARE SOME OF THE FIRST STEPS I CAN TAKE TO GOING ABOUT GETTING ALL THE PROPER LICENSES AND PERMITS SO HE CAN HAUL HIS OWN LOADS. insted of working for JB hunt or gti. we want to eventually start bidding on our own loads and work for ourselves. if someone can help me and LEAD me in the right direction it will be greatly appricated.

I strongly suggest getting your own athority thru OOIDA or the like and running on your own from the start. Sign up for the "Internet Truckstop" services, to include credit checks, with the loadboard. DO NOT HAUL FOR ANYONE WITHOUT CHECKING THEIR CREDIT!!!!!! I have been doing this very same thing for years. Works for me. Good luck with your venture.
