Default Buying a truck

I am wondering if there are any owner/operators out there? I am looking into becoming an owner/operator, and am wondering what kind of equipment, licences, or papers I will need to run 48 states in a new truck?

Default equipment depends on what you're gonna do

the type of equipment will depend on the type of hauling you plan to do, I personall purchased a flett truck off the US Express fleet, had it turned up etc and I am pulling flatbed. Just don't go over board with what you buy, and I mean don't bite off more than you can chew. The recycle fleet trucks are a safe bet to start with, they are economical and have been maintained. I bought mine through Truck Nation in Houston, been a good truck a couple of problems but all and out a good truck. Make sure you have some overhead cash for repairs for the first few months. Some companies offer a tag permit program you've heard the schpeal, "free base plate" just shop around. If you get your own, get onlt the states you are going to run, and don't cut yourself short either can cost you a ticket or a load if you remember that you are not covered for a certain state. Just use common sense, this is a business, not a game, you won't make it if you blow your cash on chrome and whistles. Good luck.
