Default O/o

I would strongly suggest saving your money to get there without any trucking company so called help. When any trucking company can interest you into buying/leasing any equipment from them for their exclusive use, it usually means that you are going to be working for less than you are working for as a driver for the same company. Save your money, change your attitude, keep your eye on the pie, save, save and save til you have enough to go it on your own. All the way on your own. Your own business period, no more, no less. That is the way to success. You own athority, your own truck (used), your own trailer (used), your own deal. I have found that by being leased to a company, the company makes at least as much as you do with your equipment without the expenses. I call this being fleased. That is what it is like. To give you an idea of what it takes money wise to start on a shoe string, it is approx. 15 thousand dollars. Then you must be able to carry things approx. 60 days without anything coming in too.
Read my lips: Trucking companies are there for themselves, they will use you til you and your equipment are all used up, then throw you aside and fill your spot with another. Good luck in your decision.

I agree with the previous post. If a trucking company is trying to get you to lease, it's for their best interest and not yours.

It's tough to start out completely on your own. I started out getting my truck through a dealer, then a trailer, but I'm still leased to a good company.

And the old saying goes, if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

My Bro-in-law did that with them and is making it okay, I think he paid to much for the truck, but other than that he's doing okay. He's also a trainer as well so he gets paid for all miles yet the students pay doesn't affect his $$$ they are paid by Wiener.

You'd be better off finding a good repo, and getting your own bank to finance it if you can. Repo's / Used trucks are definitly cheap right now. I got one last year for 60% of it's market value, three month old 9400i had less than 40k miles with 600 hp cummings. Spec'd out pretty nice as well. It was repo'd because the guy never made a payment on it. They can charge back the $$$ they don't get from a sale on a repo to the origional owner, so they will deal on them easier than a used truck.

I would agree also... with getting your own on your own... Several drivers tend to go with companies that offer purchase programs because of money issues or credit issues. So many companies offer 0 down 0 credit checks. They know that a person wanting there own truck, but doesn't have the means some times does crazy things. That is why you hear so much about over priced Rigs.... Take your time and shop around. Repos and Used trucks are out there at an awesome price... It is exciting getting your own Rig and you should be excited. However, don't go and get the first truck that comes along, especially if a company is temping you with 0 down 0 credit checks.. Trust me it's included in there somewhere... The extra $$$$$$
