Cool getting in to trucking business

Hey, am just about to start my cdl class up here in Michigan. Am looking forward to it. I love to drive and I can't stand the Michigan economy anymore, much less the winters! Have secretely wanted to be a trucker for the last 10 years and nows my chance! Hope i'm doing the right thing. Don't know if I should take on long hauls, or dedicated regional runs. Local does'nt interest me. Any advice? Which companies are best?

Most companies are alike except the name on the door is different. Concentrate on your classes and see what part of the trucking you like the best. To be better qualified it's best to go OTR so you can get that experience and get a feel for all layouts of the land. The best way to pick a company is to do research and then see if it fits to your personality and wants. There is a company out there for everyone. For example I have worked for this major trucking company but for me it didn't work out. But others think it's the greatest company. So good luck in school and welcome to our world.
