Default Emergency Roadside Service For Independant 0/0

I signed up for a Driver Program in Detroit Michigan a couple of months ago and I was told by the Rep that the program was tailored especially for the Independant Owner Operator with roadside emergency service benefits anywhere in North America and legal representation for any and all legal issues pertaining to the trucking industry.
I paid a $100.US up front for the program with a promise to pay $48.US a month for 12 months.

On their written contract there is a picture of an 18 wheeler at the top of the page and written below is the benefits such as roadside emergency service for example if you should run out of gas someone will run out to you wherever you are in Canada or United States with a couple of gerry cans and get you going again with no charge.

The other service is battery boosts again with no charge.
I believed this to be quite a deal and a half until a couple of days ago,I needed a boost for one of my trucks.

I pulled my Driver member service card out and called the good folks over at their 24hour emergency dispatch service and requested a boost.
They took down all the information including make and year of truck and promised to get a roadside service out to my driver as quickly as possible!

5 hours later and one frozen driver still no emergency roadside service so we called our own people in to get our truck and driver going again.
The 5 hours of unecessary downtime caused us to lose the load we were on our way to pick up and cost the company valuable time and money.

The next day,I called Driver member services to inquire about their failure to assist us the day before only to be told by their Rep that they only provide roadside emergency services to 4 wheelers!!

I forgot to read the fine print! ( Stupid me! )

ADVISORY
( To protect this site's integrity ,I am restricted from identifing the emergency 24 hour Roadside Driver Service )

The moral to the story is: Always take the time to read the fine print or you may be left standing out in the cold!!

Wildbill,

I don't see any problem telling who it was! That's providing a service to your fellow drivers, not blasting a company!

Maybe it will stop someone else from sitting!

Default Tvc

I spoke to Trucker's Emergency Roadside Services Corporate Management today 20th of February 2007 who responded to my official complaint in regards to my unsatisfactory service accusation.

I may report that the gentleman who is apparently upper management
expressed concearn for my complaint and agreed to investigate the sales representitive who led me to believe that Pro-Driver Emergency Roadside Service implied
an 18 wheeler.

I may tell you now that the name of the organisation is TVC Pro-driver,
Over the road protection services.
I believe this organisation to be honest and committed to Pro-Driver satisfaction but as the gentleman from their Corporate office explained,

Truck Stop Sales Rep's are sometimes a little over zealous in their sales pitch forgetting to explain the program in detail thus causing confusion and a misunderstanding when it comes time to deliver the goods.
I translate this to mean...a little dishonest!

This seems to be generalised in our industry starting with Dispatchers!
Hee! Hee! Hee! ( Now! Now! it's just a joke Guys! )

The bottom line is that the Organisation has apoligised for their sales Rep's
failure to properly explain and follow up with their customer which is me and have promised to completely refund my initial investment as a top level member!

I must say that I did not expect this type of positive reaction and feedback from the organisation but life is full of surprises and I will end by saying that
when I recieve my refund all will be forgivin!

and just a footnote to the Sales Rep, Never judge a book by it's cover!

Wildbill.........Ornry as ever!!

If it's called "Pro Driver", it would make sense that it should be for PRO DRIVERS! They need to clarify that!

Angry Never got a refund from TVC Pro-Driver

Upper Management from TVC Pro-Driver promised to refund my initial investement in their so called emergency road service program for Big Trucks and never followed through with it as of April 2007.

Pro Drivers beware of TVC Pro-driver programs and memberships selling in your local truck stop! « It's not what they are saying it is! »

If you need the full story, feel free to ask!!
