Default Billing System?

So what billing system do you recommend for a dealership? (a small one)

Thumbs up How many users is small?

There are a few good one's out there, but large and small. Some programs are complete packages for dealerships that do everything from service, parts, vehicle sales, lease/rental, and accounting and some that are module based for smaller one or two operation type stores. Technology is ever changing so be sure you get with one that will sell you a product now, but that will ensure newer products in the future.

Default Billing Systems

When I hear the term billing systems, I think DMS (Dealer Management System). If this is not what you mean then I won't get too detailed here. There are some major players, which most people have heard of like Karmak and ADP. But, those might not be the right fit if you are on the smaller side of dealerships. Others like Procede Software are scalable for small to large locations and will encompass all operations. Yet others like Adams Systems can be purchased module by module. This last one or systems like it would be a good fit if you are just a service shop. You wouldn't need the other departments that come with the other programs.
It's very important when shopping for a system to see the demo's but also ask to go visit a current site of theirs. Visit a client that has been on the product and has see other products. Talk to some that recently bought the product you are looking at, see why they chose it. Just like when people buy a truck or a car, they don't just go in to the dealership, talk to a salesperson, test drive it and buy it. No, they ask around check out reputations, see if it's a right fit for their vocation, etc.

Hopefully this helps. Systems are a major investment on the part of an organization. They are no longer the unwanted necessity. They are now a valuable tool.
