Default Appointment times

Anybody have any good stories about the appointment times made by the company? I just came out of a nightmare load and I was wondering if any one else has had a similar experience lately. The story is too long to rewrite here but you can read about it at http://lenutt.hwyblogs.com. I hope this story doesn't repeat itself too soon.

Setting appointments is a freakin nightmare, trust me I schedule about 20 a day on average. Recently I have been getting loads of pre assembled trailers that deliver to Costco stores up and down the Seattle, WA. coast. You can get 8 of these trailers in a 53' Reefer and 9 in a 53' Van and each location gets 1 trailer, hence 8 or 9 drop loads. These places only receive from 4am to 11am and typically all drops have to come of in one day, so you wanna see a pissed off driver talk to him after he has taken one of these loads.

They do however pay very well, and in the end it's worth it on all sides.

Everyone gets caught when appointment times are involved but one thing that really frosts me is that when appt times are changed many times the person making the delivery is left out of the loop. I have had many times that the time has been changed and the customer service people ?forget? to contact me and let me know. I get to the customer and I find out from them that everything is different. This can be very important to owner/operators because it affects whether we make money or not on the trip. If we have to lay over another night many times the company doesn't want to bill for layover pay then who is stuck? not the company. Better communications would definitely be a plus.
