Default SelecTruck - Freightliner

Hi Would like some opinions if possible. I just had a family member finance a used 2000 FLD120 thru SelecTruck Worcester Ma. Truck a mess had to come in off the road three weeks after purchase because of a mold and mildew condition, fly larvae, the whole nine yards (truck stunk so bad it made the kid sick) caused by multiple water leaks obviously there before the truck was purchased. It's a former Swift fleet truck. After much fighting with SelecTruck and Freightliner they finally agreed to fix it even though they said it was not a warranty situation. They spent $5000.00 to fix the leak, bleach the interior and replace the carpet at a Freightliner dealer in Ct. This took three weeks. It rained on the way home ( 2 1/2 hrs away) guess what, it still leaked. Brought it back -picked it up - still - leaks. Was told don't come back - that's all we are doing. Great service huh ? Also, financing thru SelecTruck doesn't seem like a very good idea they can take a $45,000.00 purchase and get it up to a $68,000.00 payoff and do it so you can't pay it off early to save on the interest. Just wondering if any of you guys or gal's have any advice or opinions about the situation or SelecTruck. The truck is leased to a global carrier and it is back in service by necessity (needs a paycheck) after some patching and sealing in my own driveway. Was necessary to retain attorney - that's the only thing that seemed to get SelecTrucks attention.
Beware of SelecTrucks First Time Buyer Program. One of the things they ask you to do is sign a statement that you are buying the truck "as is where is with no warranty of any kind or they won't sell you the truck.
Sorry to make this so long.

Thank you

Yea select truck fianancing is almost as bad as doing a lease option with any of the companies offering it.
Unless you go and know alot about a truck and look it over from top to bottom then buying a truck from select is like buying it from E-bay it is a gamble.
I used to drive a FLD that had leaking problems, and I found it to be leaking around the cab lights, but it dripped into the sleeper never once leaked up front.
So we would take it back (penske lease) and they would keep it over night and agian it would leak. It leaked so bad one time they had to replace my mattress and they even bought me a pillow top mattress.
Anyways a few months passed and my company ended up buying the truck and our mechanics found it right off the bat, and fixed the problem.
If it still leaks and you have not looked around the cab lights try this, it might be the problem.
