Well let's see I work for a company who hauls the new truck's from the factory to dealership's and even straight to the company's themselves.
We haul Freightliner's, Mack, International, Ford, Sterling's, Western Star, Volvo's Etc.
It is a pretty nice job, if you like to fly on airplanes because that is how we get from delivery point to pick-up points.
Stay in motels everynight it really doesn't seem like a driving job until.......
You pick up a set of trucks that measure about 90 to 100 feet long then you are trucking.
I picked up a load of Internationals a while back. We were gonna deliver them in Ohio and I crossed the scales on I-71 north just north of Columbus, and was given the red light.
They pulled me around because when my front axel in the lead truck was on the edge of the scale the rear axel on the last truck was not on the scale yet.
They measured me to be 98 feet long.........suppose to be legal for us up to 100 feet before we have to permit the load.
