Well! I ain't never!!!
I got this load outta Toronto Ontario Canada goin to Ft.Lauderdale Florida last week and as usual it was pretty routine except for one little thang and when I say little, I mean Little!
It all started on the loading dock when this suit and tie guy came up to me and said that he was using this particular shippment as a test load fer some new techinal tracking gizmo!
He showed me what looked to be a Microchip the size of a pack of matches and proceeded to place the gadget in one of the boxes of cargo in my wagon.
I asked him who he was and what the Microchip was all about,especially in my cargo aboard my darn truck.
He showed me his I.D. which turned out to be some private Electronic Security expert from a company in Montreal Canada and he explained to me that the microchip was being placed in my cargo to test it's accuracy in tracking my truck,trailer and cargo!
Evidently he was hired by the shipper to keep an eye on certain high value loads which were vulnerable to theft and was using my load as a demo for the shipper!
I checked his story out with the Boss man to make sure everything was on the up and up and then headed out towards Florida with this darn microchip on board which made me a little nervous cause it aint manifested to cross the border but the bossman said it was all cleared with the authorities.
I finally got to my destination in Florida and there I was met by another shirt and tie who recuperated the Microchip from the box in which it had been placed.
I got talkin to the shirt and tie security guy in Florida who explained to me that they had monitored the microchip every inch of the way from Toronto Canada to Ft.Lauderdale Florida and it had worked just fine!
I guess according to him, microchips is the next big thing in the private security section of the international transportation industry for cargo tracking and drivers won't even know that a microchip has been placed there and he also told me off the record ( Can you keep a secret ) that now they have the microchip incorporated right in the tape used to seal the boxes being shipped and they can even paint it on cargo now,so you would'nt even find it even if you opened every box looking for the Bug!
Sounds like James Bond to me!! ( Scary stuff )
So it's official drivers!,The technology has arrived and it is being used as of today!
If you need anymore information about these satellite cargo tracking microchips drivers, ask me because I have done my research and my homework in regards to this new technology and I can tell you that it aint like " ONSTAR " or anything else you have ever seen or heard about before!!
