There ain't very much I can say in accordance to Truck and Trailer financing except to tell you a little about my experience in that department.
When I first started out as an Independant Owner Operator no one would even talk to me about financing a truck or trailer but as life works in strange ways,I finally got in house financing form my local dealerships!
Now back then the trucking industry was doing pretty good and their were lots of buyers so dealerships were alot more independant with the new comers
unless you had a wallet full of cash.
It was extremely difficult to get financing but it could be done at a fairly high rate of interest, but these day are a different story all together with the trucking industry going through some difficult growing pains a new comer can get equipement financing easily and at a real low rate of interest.
It is alway like that in our industry, if the dealerships are not selling trucks because of tough times that is when you can get a good deal and some excellent financing, but, it is these times that it is extremely hard to pay for the equipement because of the tough times so buyer beware!
It is easier to buy but it is also easier to loose it to bankruptcy!
I guess you buy and just keep yer fingers crossed that you will make it through the tough times or you plan ahead as much as possible and try to keep an emergency slush fund for the times where you just ain't going to make that payment!
You can talk to some old school owners and you can sit down with a business expert but in the long run it is you alone who really knows if yer going to have what it takes to pull you through to the final payment.
I can tell you that it might just be the toughest thing you have ever taken on
when you sign on the dotted line for a truck and trailer because it ain't like in the movies!!
Goodluck and see ya out on the big road!
