I posted my resume on Monster and the HR gal from one of the most reputable fuel companies in Southern California called me within a few days of posting it. I was interviewed and offered the job, so I gave my two weeks notice at my previous place of employment. It's a great company with about 75 employees (approx 25 drivers) 4-10's and great benefits. I'm glad I posted my resume on the internet, it's one of the best jobs I've ever had.

Funny thing is, last week I was talking to a fellow driver that was hired a couple of weeks before me, and found out that he was hired off the same web-site that I was. An old veteran was sitting in the corner listening to our conversation and he couldn't believe that's how we found our jobs or, should I say, our jobs found us?

Internet is the wave of the future boys... It's the wave of the future.

Thumbs up

Isn't that the truth. Used to be, you had to go to the (un)employment office and fill out stuff to be considered for the good jobs. Or, you circled ads in the newspaper and showed up with 40 other guys for 1 job, etc. Last office job I had, I used Monster.com also. Filled out my info, matched me with their specs, I get the call for interview, bingo! It's funny a lot people don't know about it, but I find more and more companies, from Fortune 500 to labor jobs all use monster now. I know a lady who is head of human resources for a major company, and she doesn't even post in the newspaper anymore. She doesn't want 500 paper resumes. She likes that she can put in what she wants, and it automatically sends her a list of qualified applicants.

Definately the wave of the future.
