Default I heard a rumor that Galaxy might be building

Another radio......

I heard it might even have 8 pills in the bottom of it!

WOW! I really love my DX 98VHP....because I am just a swinging at about 340 watts on AM.

I hadn't heard that. I've had a couple Galaxy radios, and while I thought they were nice, never really got into them. My fav was a 44. Enough power, decent features.

Isn't 340 watts kinda overkill? You'd be heard much farther than you can hear. Seems it wouldn't do anything but make people mad.

After looking at the Galaxy website, that sure is a heck of a radio! I probably would like it for doing sideband. (I don't like going on uppers).. I have an old Cobra 139 Base with tons of channels... as I said, I don't like to go to 10 meter, but I confess I do talk right below 1 sometimes. I am a certified Sideband freak! Leo (LDB ) has been talking to me about getting my ham ticket.. .and I've been playing with that idea. He has both CB and Ham in his truck, and plays very nice equipment. I've talked to Arizona and up into Canada on my Cobra, playing thru an Antron, but I like the idea of world wide! We still have a sideband net active on Thursday nights out of Lancaster.

In my area I'm lucky enough to have several friends who still are very active on the CB. We talk quite a bit.

According to the Galaxy site... the 98VHP IS the 8 pill radio.. 8 mosfet finals.. 200 deadkey.

DX 98VHP

Do you have an active CB channel around where you live, besides 19? If you get down around Circleville, we talk some on 19... and some friends and I (they're dump drivers also..)talk on 25.

Yea, but the new radio will have toshiba pills..suppose to be more wattage.

What is the channel for the SSB Net in Lancaster?

I am fixing to be moving back to Kentucky in a short while, maybe I can get the radio setup in the car...(don't know if the alt will handle it though)

I am moving because work fell completely out here..NO WORK NO MONEY...I don't play that game..

I have a job offer in KY, where I moved from to come up here.
