Unhappy Wildbill, it's gonna cost ya!

According to Landline, you may soon have to PAY to go into Montreal! Not to be outdone, New York likes the idea too...

Mayor of Montreal favors tolling inbound traffic

The mayor of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, wants to toll vehicles that travel into the city by road, bridge or tunnel.

According to media reports, Mayor Gerald Tremblay wants to accomplish two goals – cut down on congestion, and raise about $300 million a year for transportation projects.

However, Tremblay didn’t indicate how much cars or heavy trucks would be charged.

Meanwhile, in New York, the idea of a daily fee for traveling in parts of the city is being tossed about. “Congestion pricing,” as it’s being called, is already part of the daily commute in London, Stockholm and Rome.

Default Mean streets of Montreal

Yep! they are definatly fixin to set up the cash boxes going into and outta Montreal and I can tell you that Montreal sure needs the money, ( Not! ) because it is almost a crime these days besides being down right dangerous drivin through the mean streets of Montreal and surrounding areas.
( Watch out for fallin Overpasses )

Without going off on a tangent and gettin all wild eyed and crazy, I don't think that the delapidated condition of the streets and infrastructure is the objective of the tolls though!

The truth of the matter is...................

Our politicians need the money because as you know, Golf green fees are on the rise, Airfare to their winter get-a-way is expensive, champagne is gettin
costly, gasoline and fuel for their big fishin boats is sky rocketing and eating out is way beyond reality these days.

I ask that you smile while throwing your three Loonies ( A loony is a Canadain dollar ) into the basket of misfortune as you drive your old beater into one of Montreal's crater size pot holes, taking out your suspension, exhaust system and front right wheel!

Remember that your financial contribution will keep our politicians fat and happy!

Wildbill....Ornry as ever..
